Possibly the perfect shoe for grip and comfort in a wet UK winter. The minimalist design looks understated without shouting "yoo hoo, I'm a hiker". Delighted with these, they look and feel what they cost. Stability is excellent, especially for my weak ankles, the first pair of shoes I've ever felt perfect in from the first fitting. I haven't tried running yet, these are for everyday wet weather life in Britain without the weight and bulk of boots.
Did my first 5k trail run in these on Jan 1st. Mix of gravel, stone, grass, and mud, all very damp. They were great. Sure under foot, light enough, and my feet stayed dry. Not too jarring on tarmac either. I'm a 9, wear a 9.5 in Adidas running shoes (Supernova Glide), but had to swap a 9.5 for a 10 in these. I think the Goretex sock slightly reduces the volume, especially in the toe box. Quick clean with a damp cloth and they're good as new.
Overall very happy with this shoe, it is exactly what I needed. Not as minimalist as some others in the market (innov8 etc.), but does offer more cushioning as a trade off and is better for (limited) road miles. Very grippy, and the GTX version is extremely water tight. If you are looking for an inbetween, lightweight trail show with some road uses this is a great choice.
Excellent walking shoes, great grip, and comfort. I wore them straight out of the box for a walk along the coast, including the beach and had no problems, I would highly recommend these shoes, even the wife commented how good they looked compared to my previous walking shoes
Took them out for a run on Saturday and the traction was great over rocky and uneven ground and my feet didn't get wet. I usually have a 9 but went for a 9.5 after reading lots of other reviews and found them to be extremely comfortable.
Having just worn these shoes two days ago in the World Skyrunner Glencoe Skyline series, I cannot praise these shoes enough. I've been wearing the Kanadia TR7 non gore-tex version for the last year, running local trails and laps in the Derbyshire peak district. What i particularly like about this shoe is the fact its not too specific i.e. it has great grip in muddy conditions, superb traction on rock and is comfortable for flats and even road sections, therefore i don't need a specialist shoe as its great in almost all conditions apart from really deep boggy conditions and like most people in order to get to the trails or hills i may need to run on the flats or roads. I've been running for 30 yrs and worn numerous different brands including some very popular brands worn in mountains (think of a ski brand) and none of them have withstood the abuse these have received. Leading up to the skyline i bought another pair of TR7's thinking an unworn shoe would work better, however i wore the original 6 month old shoe, as it was super comfy and while many runners we're struggling on the varied terrain these gave me the confidence to push on. N.B I'm not an Adidas employee, i just felt compelled to make this review as after attending this event (sky runner) many runners were wearing other brands which are heavily marketed towards this style of running and felt it was a shame this great shoe was a bit of an unknown. PS 7th placed Vet;-)
Very stylish. Bought for walking on mild climbs. Great grip on wet surface, including grass and stone. I'm a size 10 and the 10 was a perfect fit. They are a firm trainer but have give. Highly recommended
Receiving my new runners from the postman inspired me to try them out straight away. So off I took down to the local park and into their forest trail and away I ran. The shoes were so comfortable over the uneven ground and with great support for my dodgy ankle. And best of all my feet remained totally dry!
Had purchased a pair of shoes from another well known brand which I later had to return because of a small fault. Then purchased these Kanadia 7 shoes and I love them. More comfortable and lighter than the other ones. Have worn them now seven or eight times and could not be happier with them.
Bought these to wear on holiday in the Orkney ilands. Easily the most comfortable trainers I have had for a long time. I have walked on the beach, grass roads and rocks with full confidence. Best of all they are waterproof!
So far so good with these. Ran across a wet field this morning without slipping and without my feet getting wet. I normally wear a size 11 with Adidas but that was really tight for me oddly, so had to go up half a size. Every other pair of Adidas trainers I have are size 11 and fit perfectly. Weird.
Adidas continue to make great value hiking and outdoor shoes. These are particularly great value for money being both comfortable and weather resistant. I tried a few pairs of Terrex but they were too narrow for me, these are better, almost perfect and so far so good, well done adidas for catering to the massive trail running / day hiker community!
Ideal purchase, exactly what I want looking for, waterproof trainers that I could wear for walking in fields. Recommended size is a perfect fit and they are really comfortable. The best part is they'll ok really good on. I bought the black/grey option.
Great show well made. Adidas always appear to be 1/2 size smaller than size stated for some reason so be aware. As I'd personalised mine am unable to exchange. As a result they are a wee bit tight but I'll live with it
I bought the gore-tex TR7 as I go to watch my son play football in all types of weather so needed something that would give me comfort grip and keep my feet dry on the rainy mornings! At first they were great however 6 months later I can't even go on my wet lawn for 2 minutes without feeling my feet going wet :-( so I now have an £80 pair of gore-tex trainers that I can only ware on sunny days disgrace!! My last trainers which were a pair of INOV8 didn't let in water until I wore a hole in the sole I hade them that long!! Not happy
They make you feel like you are walking on air, they feel strongly supportive and are almost self propelling, my only reservation is that they feel hard around the top of the heel when putting them on, overall a brilliant shoe
bought these trainers 6 months ago to replace my old Kanadia Trail 3 Gtx shoes which had died after 4 years of use. the fit, feel and comfort of these shoes are fantastic but what i am really disappointed with is the quality of the tread. i havent even used them for running yet but already the outsole grip has worn right down. i have used these trainers to do exactly the same things i did with the previous pair and they took 3 years before the tread started to wear down. even my cheap £20 pumps have a more durable tread on them! considering the price these cost and that they are marketed by adidas as a durable outdoor trail shoe...yet they cannot handle a 150lb guy doing nothing more than walking around in them this is definitely a case of the item being unfit for its intended use
I ordered these in a 10 (I'm usually a 9). After wearing in for 3 days they are getting much more comfy- but they were fairly tight width wise at first. 10.5 would maybe have been better? Time wil tell. Overall they look fab, the colourway is really nice and they are a perfect work shoe for what I need now they are loosening off.
Perfect for Hockey Goretex keeps your feet dry while the ankles and toes are harder to protect you from the ball. The gripping is ok but it that should not be overlooked if your not playing hockey but it keeps your feet nice and cool in the heat of the game
I loved the design the look is great the big shame for me is that normally you can put on a pair of Adidas trainers and its as though they ve always been there so comfortable unfortunately the kanadia are very stiff around the ankles its going to take a lot of breaking in please put a bit more padding in the ankle and toe areas
Bought for my son who continues to outgrow everything and so needed something to keep his feet dry at school - but didn't want to stand out with bright colours and them still be "trainers". He absolutely loves them and they fit his size 11 feet perfectly.
These are a good trail running shoe; more grippy on hard surfaces than the older Kanadias I had. But the colour options for the latest Kanadia range is dire. These black and white ones were the least worst of the colours available. Don't like this trend of putting in a panel colour that is completely different to the rest of the shoe.
